Self-confident career counselling and planning

Career Counselling and Planning

"If you get good marks in the 10th board, we take science, otherwise we will choose commerce," said a 14-year-old uncle while talking about choosing a subject stream. This is not the right way to plan one's career. Career planning starts with the individual. Understanding yourself is very important. After that, one can effectively select the stream. Many students do not understand the path and do not pay attention to the goal. Many of them choose the subject stream based on what their friends are advising or which siblings have chosen.

Understanding personality traits

One needs to understand one's abilities, personality, interests, abilities, and what is important as a person. A talent is something that comes naturally to a person or a special ability of a person. Students can be shy/outgoing, creative or traditional, it determines their personality. A shy person won't fit into a direct marketing company team role, etc. Personality is an important factor in choosing a career and so is the stream.

Find yourself

Then you need to understand his interests. Students may need to dig deeper to understand their true interests. Anyone can get hints from the funniest activities at school or at home. We also need to see if we have the ability to pursue a particular subject or career. Capabilities can be physical, mental, and posture in nature. For example, if one wants to excel in athletics but does not have the physical ability to practice, it will be difficult.

Guided by Career Counselling

Last but not least, as a free career counsellor I recommend that one should look at what a person values. Some people value money, some value glamor, some value power, some valuable time for themselves, and so on. Can't accept the fulfillment of everything in a particular career. So one can decide, prioritize and then choose a stream accordingly. If needed, consult a career counselor for guidance and effective career planning. A career counselor is a professional who helps students and adults make self-confident career decisions effectively.

One needs to understand that many careers can be chosen regardless of the stream. Therefore, the selected section should be of interest to the student.
